Chaska, Minnesota, is best known for its small-town feel and friendly atmosphere. The town was founded in 1852 and there is a wealth of history here. The name Chaska is derived from a Dakota word meaning firstborn. The city’s mission statement is to be the best small town in Minnesota. Even with that small-town charm, the community is only half an hour outside of Downtown Minneapolis. There are many historic homes here, including in the Italianate and Queen Anne architectural styles, as well as many more modern designed homes.

Locals are also committed to maintaining its status as a small town at the edge of the Twin Cities. There is a lovely historic downtown on the banks of the Minnesota River.
